Sat at the bar for drinks and Oysters. Drinks were good oysters so fresh. Will definitely go back.

I really enjoyed Vista Mar. The happy hour deal is great. There's both food and drinks on the menu. Get there at 5:30 latest thought because they're are very funny about offering happy hour as the time approaches 6. The space is also beautiful it's great for happy hour or a good night out. Thought the set up outside is nice, bugs were all over the plates and silverware. One giant one even landed on me, so I can't eat outside. I also found that the waiter we had was pretty inattentive despite the restaurant not being busy. However the quality of the food and the price point of happy hour would make it a place I would visit again

I visited Vistamar on Labor Day after some friends suggested we visit a new Happy Hour Spot they discovered. Originally I said no because I was on a date and had just finished having a light lunch. Out of the blue she asked "would you like to go to City Island?" My eyes opened wide and I said Absolutely! So I decided to to to the same place my friends suggested and to my surprise, the place is beautiful. We made it just in time before Happy Hour ended. I didn't want to sit at the bar with my friends so the Manager sat us down at the corner table with the most amazing view of the sunset. We ordered the fried calamari, and Tacos. For drinks we had Mojitos and Beer. The bill was about $50.00. Guillermo and Suli treated us like Royalty! Thank you Vistamar! Everything was OUTSTANDING!!

I went to Vistamar for my birthday because its location (City Island), menu, and design make it a great place to eat in the Bronx. The water and layout of the restaurant elevate the visuals to another level. I'm conflicted about how to feel about this place. I was introduced to it last month and quickly shortlisted it for my birthday. The place is so visually appealing. Both indoor and outdoor dining have their stylistic advantages, and you can't go wrong with either vibe aesthetically. I went there with a party of five, and there were some highs and lows. Upon arrival on Thursday at 6:47, there was no wait inside or outside. I was seated at the end of the outdoor dining area, which offered a great backdrop for photos, a view of the water, and prime people-watching. Unfortunately, those darned lanternflies are back, so I had to move the party inside. When I sat down, one of our guests was already at the bar inside, so the staff brought their happy hour oysters and drinks outside. I noticed that our menus didn't include the smaller happy hour menu. Upon requesting it, the outdoor waiter left and did not return with it. When we moved inside the restaurant at 6:53, there was another request to place the HH order without the menu, and I was told they had already stopped it to change the system over their next menu options. That was very disappointing because part of the reason I chose this venue over others was for the happy hour menu. I just wish that restaurants would stop their promotions at the times they claim they end. If it ends at 6:40, just say that instead so they don't make you travel across the borough to be disappointed. Anyway, they then brought out the "Lady's Night" menu, which had some interesting options. Unfortunately, and probably to be expected, they said men couldn't participate in the evening promotion. Yay, happy birthday to me. We ordered a good amount of apps and entrees. I personally had the calamari, lobster mac, and filet mignon entree. The calamari was solid, the lobster mac had an interesting melted cheese topping with a rich, somewhat buttery cheese sauce inside. The filet mignon was a bit of a letdown: a nice large portion of beef, a couple of bland asparagus, and solid mashed potatoes with sauce. For cocktails, I ordered the "Tamo' Ready" and tried a Lychee Martini and Passionfruit Mojito. All three were solid. Although the food didn't seem worth the price, the drinks were really good. When they perform their birthday song, it's a whole production with a giant club sign included. The dessert platter with cotton candy was a nice touch--very different from what you normally get at restaurants, so kudos to them. Honestly, if I were to come back, it would likely be for the happy hour or because someone else wanted to eat here. It's a gorgeous venue with a lot of interesting events, but it's hard to prepare because their website doesn't even work. I'd come back for the happy hour (if they decide to honor it), but the main food didn't seem worth the price. The drinks, HH promotion, view, birthday aspects, and promotions really saved it for me because I was heavily teetering between 3 and 4 stars.

I really enjoyed my visit to Vistamar for my birthday! We sat outside where there was an amazing DJ. The decor and views were perfect .We caught a little happy hour and then had dinner. We also had hookah. During the evening there were also dancers who contributed to the vibes . Customer service was lovely. So all in all I recommend this restaurant and I will be back.

I always go to city island but tend to always go to the same restaurant. I decided to give this place a try and it did not disappoint. They have outdoor dining but it was a little cool so I opted to eat inside. For appetizer, I got buffalo wings. Then as a main course, I got crispy fried shrimp. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I have no complaints about this place. I plan on coming back when the weather is nicer to sit outside.

Met up here with my family for Saturday brunch. My daughter ordered French toast with cotton candy which was presented nicely, as well as her fudge brownie with ice cream dessert. My sister didn't think the food tasted as good as it looked. I only tried their mimosa, it was fresh and strong, they offer bottomless for 2 hours. There are many lovely areas for photo ops. At night this spot becomes club like. I don't think I'd plan to come here to eat, but I'm willing to meet up with family and have some more drinks again.

Parking is $5 cash only. We got here on a Saturday afternoon, it was a perfect time, because there was nobody really there(1pm). We got to sit outside since the weather was perfect. Although the indoor seating was very nice as well. The staff was all kind and helpful. There was a wedding going on in their event room, so the parking got pretty crowded fast. I believe they have Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday brunch djs, so I can imagine this place becomes a big party. We ordered a the appetizer for two and Mac and cheese, later we got the mofongo with shrimp. I can't complain about anything at all. The server recommended the Shrimp mofongo and it was delicious. We liked looking out to the water and enjoyed the decorations outdoors. We had such a nice experience here I will absolutely be back soon!
